Description
Mosque Backyard motive
Very old painting - oil on canvas over cardboard, presumably taken from a hardcover of a book, and painted on its outer back side where the canvas was laid down. .
One art expert from Eastern Europe told me that this painting was painted during or just after the second World War. He estimated late 40's to early or mid 50's.
Thus explanation that painter took a hardcover of a book to paint as these were years of poverty so it was the only canvas he could find/.
It is signed by a painter after the painting was finished as it is signed with a pen, bottom right.

It was in my family for more than 60 years as it was a gift to my grandfather while he ran his law office (which was closed all the way in 1964 when he retired, so painting is long time in family)
