Black Beauty Anne Sewell D Black Beauty is the story of a young colt in his own words, He was born and brought up along with other colts in a kind owner's meadow. When he was four years old, his master decided to put him to work. He was made to wear saddle and bridle and his journey thus began. Heserved the good master for long, but one day he was handed over to another man. This man was equally kind and caring. At the new place, Black Beauty met with many horses, developed friendship with them, and was happy. He served the second master for long and proved very useful. But he had to be sold to somebody as the master had to leave London for good because of his wife's illness. Thereafter he could not live for long with his successive masters. But all is well if the end is well. In the end he was bought by a kind person in whose house he met his old coach and was assured a peaceful existence in the old age.
