DESIGNATION: Manager Finance January 2019-Present
IGI LIFE is one of the leading life insurance company in Pakistan which provides corporate and individual with innovative life insurance and savings products. I am currently affiliated with the company as Manager Finance reporting directly Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of investment portfolios, ensuring accuracy and completeness of investment transactions, including purchases, sales, income, and expenses.
Calculate Net Asset Values (NAVs) for various investment funds and portfolios, applying appropriate valuation methodologies and accounting principles, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Monitor cash flows into and out of investment funds, reconciling cash balances and ensuring proper allocation of cash for investment purposes, liquidity management, and payment of expenses and distributions.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
Oversee the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger accounting system, ensuring proper recording and classification of financial transactions in accordance with IFRS, and industry-specific regulations.
Coordinate month-end and year-end close processes, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data reported in the general ledger.
Perform and review account reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances and discrepancies in a timely manner, and providing meaningful analysis of financial data to support decision-making processes.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls over GL processes to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, mitigating risks of errors and fraud.
Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors during financial audits, facilitating audit procedures, providing requested documentation, and addressing audit inquiries and findings related to GL accounts.
Collaborate with other departments such as Actuarial, Risk Management, Investments, and Compliance to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data and to support business initiatives.
Maintain documentation of GL processes, procedures, and controls, ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Implemented IPAMS software for investment management, resulting in a 20% increase in portfolio performance and a 15% reduction in operational costs.
Collaborated with the finance and IT departments to ensure successful integration of the software into the company's existing systems.
